Prayers with South Sudan

Prayers with South Sudan

Dear Lucy and MU Members, Warm Trinitarian greetings from the MU fraternity in South Sudan in the Mighty Name of our LORD Jesus Christ. Amen.

I'm pleased to write to you this note courtesy of the Rev. Mary Stephen Wani-the MU Leader in the Diocese of Rejaf/Juba. She came to the office yesterday following the information I received from you through my Bishop in Egypt. She was happy to hear from you. She then gave the below as their additional prayer requests should it be added to previous ones sent.

Please Pray for genuine Peace in the Republic of South Sudan. Pray for an end to the novel coronavirus pandemic. - Pray for reduction of illnesses and death cases that continue to threaten the people of God in this part of the planet. - Pray for the unity of purpose of the people of South Sudan. - Pray for an opportunity to reduce the level of ignorance among women in general and the MU in particular. -Pray for reduction of poverty level in South Sudan as there are many widows and orphans due to the recurrent wars and civil strife in the country. - Pray for Bishop Edward, who is in lockdown in Egypt as all flights out of the country have been cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Pray that God will open way for him to go and join his people.

Projects: 1. Agriculture. An independent proposal can be prepared. 2. Income generating Venture to support widows and orphans. A proposal can be made to that effect. 3. Office furniture and stationery. 4. Acquisition of two (2) Laptop computers for the MU Leader and the Coordinator. 5. MU Literacy program. 6. Treatment cost for the MU Leader to ascertain her health.

Obituary: Within the last two (2) weeks, two (2) Members of the MU went to glory to be with the LORD. They are the late Rose Kaku Ezra Allan, MU Leader, Gorom Deanery. Late Monica Matyuk, Member of the MU at the Pro-Cathedral of the Diocese of Rejaf/Juba. Kindly pray for the bereaved families so that God can give them strength and hope in this time of loss and separation.

Thank you so much for being in touch with the MU and the Diocese of Rejaf. Kindly convey our heartfelt gratitude to all the MU Members and Christians in the UK. May God bless you richly.

Yours in Christ service. Rev. Canon Tartisio Lako Jonathan, Bishop's commissary, Episcopal Church of South Sudan, Diocese of Rejaf/Juba
