Looking forward to Spring

Looking forward to Spring

I am sure you will love the new MU banner so If you're in Chelmsford at any time, please visit the Cathedral and have a look at it. The banner will be dedicated on the 4th November 2019 at the Council meeting that is to be held in the Cathedral.

The Students from St Mellitus College have written a Mothering Sunday Liturgy for 2019 that has been uploaded onto the MU Diocesan website with ideas and suggestions for the sermon.

What would you want for Shamima Begum’s future? Could you forgive her, and if so, how would you feel if she brought the evil of IS home? Can you find it in your heart to welcome her back or would you rather her stay away? Perhaps we should pray, especially for her innocent baby’s future, for only God knows her intent…

St Botolph St Botolph lived a faithful life of Christian work and teaching, and he died in 680. His beloved monastery survived for around two hundred years but was destroyed by Danish invaders at about 870AD.

The Diocesan President of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands is in England until the end of the week. We have arranged for her to be at the 10.0 communion service at the Cathedral tomorrow (28/02/2019) followed by coffee in the Johnson Room. Please let us know if you can attend. Mary Ferrin

In Southwark Cathedral, on 27th Feb, Mrs Sheran Harper was commissioned as Worldwide President of Mothers’ Union, a movement of four million members worldwide, by the Archbishop of Canterbury, The Right Revd Justin Welby. 12 off us were there from our diocese, it was a wonderful service. Judith Meaden.
