April thoughts

April thoughts

Watch your thoughts; they become words...Watch your words; they become actions...Watch your actions; they become habits...Watch your habits; they become character...Watch your character; it becomes your destiny..

Judith Meaden our Diocesan President is passionate about the work of the Mothers Union and always manages to leave her listeners inspired to carry on the work that Mary Sumner started 140years ago…

I do realise that MU membership is declining over the years but I don’t worry too much about the Mothers’ Union because women are strong minded and if they decide to keep something going they will, no matter what. Alan Vine.

Let us pray for the comfort of all those who have lost loved ones recently. The death of a family member can be devastating and worrying if we feel their demise is suspicious and unnecessary. There are times when only a Coroner can give us the answers we need.

Like Saint George let us fight the good fight for the risen Christ. Let us raise the flag of hope and prayer and grind underfoot all doubt and sorrow.

A bridge made from sand is very difficult to build; it needs special stones to help support such a structure. We can act as living stones to support a bridge for Jesus who shed blood, sweat and tears to build a bridge between his people and God, he also had hope, passion and enthusiasm in that a bridge will join us together with God! Revd Canon Edward Carter
