Reflection and Prayer

What a year we have all had. The impact has been very high in parts of Chelmsford Diocese. For some a year of inconvenience but for many a year of loss.
The pain of losing someone close to us is always painful made worse when we cannot say goodbye. Sometimes in the depth of misery we cannot reach out to the Lord - He reaches out to us, understanding, coming alongside and helping us through.
The world will never be the same as pre-Covid-19 but despite everything much goodness can come from it. Many have got to know their neighbours, helping with simple things like shopping or just saying hello. In our Mothers’ Union branch, many members have phoned others and now meet weekly on Zoom and, importantly, are praying for local and worldwide members. As Christians we always have hope in Christ but in despair we sometimes struggle. In the words of Julian of Norwich: All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of things shall be well.
We pray for all members of Mothers’ Union worldwide that we can be used as your hands, eyes and ears in difficult and easy times. In the name of Christ. Amen.
