A Letter from Margaret

Dear friends and fellow MU members, thank you all so much for the flowers, gifts and cards that Judith kindly gave to me on Monday November 4th before the service in the afternoon of Council. As well as a generous cheque in the goody bag was a silver MU badge and a glass MU vase.
Recently we have been planning a revamp in our lounge, the decorator left as I am writing this, so the cheque will be used for a new oak TV unit and two sets of matching nests of table as well as a new TV. I received direct many cards and other cheques so they will all be used towards these items.
Thank you, Hilary, for the beautiful card you made for everyone to sign at Council, it is a work of art, to be kept with the one you recently made for our Golden Wedding from MU, two of your cards in a couple of months! Myland also sent me a beautiful bespoke card, thank you.
I have always said that I couldn’t have carried out the work without the strong support and technical help from Bob, and he was thoughtfully given a pen – MU of course! We are both very grateful for that gift.
Thank you to our new secretary, Kathryn, for sending this letter out to all on email and hard copies to the branches without email access. I wish Kathryn joy in the fulfilling work of being our secretary; it is a wonderful job which I have thoroughly enjoyed for so many years. It has been a great joy to meet so many of you and to see the branches and deaneries at work; keep it up! I was so pleased to see Kathryn enrolled during the service. I truly wish her well.
Many, many thanks again, Bob and I will enjoy the presents whenever we sit down to watch television or just sit – not much of that over the last years.
With best wishes to you all. Margaret x
