St Philomena’s remains were discovered in May 1802 in a tomb in the Catacomb of St Priscilla in Rome. Three tiles which enclosed the tomb bore the inscription “Pax Tecum Filumena” meaning “Peace be with you, Philomena”. A few weeks ago, one of our clergy put out a notice in church saying we could sign up to go as a party to see the film Mary Magdalene in early April. Last night a group of us met in the Chapter House beside Chelmsfor Cathedral to enjoy each others company and a hearty meal made up of a meat or vegetarian shepherd’s pie and vegetables in aid of the MU’s project entitled ‘English for Women’.
